This aint about har.............

I got this email from my daddy this morning with the subject line............."You've gone too far Monique". However, I don't think so. Growing up I was always the tallest, and a 'lil on the chubby side. However, my mom instilled in me that just because your pleasingly plump, clean it up and dress it up. So my response to my daddy's email was as follows........"No. I don't think she's gone too far. We all know that she has been in the forefront of trying to change society's views of full figured women. I thank my mom for being that role model for me, later in her life, showing me that a full figured woman can be beautiful, classy, stylish, smart, and still have her husband flirt with her."

What do you all think?

I think it's artfully done.

Props to the artist who came up with the concept and those who executed the make-up/body paint, hair and lighting.

Oh yeah! And the women for having the courage to expose themselves like that! They had to know there would be haters...

My Mom taught me about what used to be called foundations...the importance of wearing the right undergarments for certain outfits. When to go strapless, bustier, longline bra, girdle or power shorts...whatever it takes to keep the jiggle at bay, lift, separate, push-up, etc.

And I am SO grateful for that education, especially those times in my life (like now) when I am not hitting the gym as regularly as I should be.

I'm wit you-mo' props to women with mo'.

Let's celebrate women in all our forms. From natural hair to big, bodacious bodies. Self love and, therefore, self-care, will not flourish if we don't begin to recognize and appreciate our beauty in all it's natural states.
Because the truth is, true beauty radiates from within.

I just read about this this morning. I wasn't sure what the outcome would be, but I think it was very artistic and creative and done as tastefully as Mo'Nique could produce. I wasn't angered or offended, but inspired by their courage and outward presentation. Truly a work of art. Thanks for sharing.

I like the tasteful way this was done! I met a young man one day when my sister was berating me again for my weight in public. And he told me honey don't listen to her your just a whole lotta women. More to love!

I dont think Mo'Nique has gone too far. I applaud her. I am only 5'9 and have been called an amazon. I just take it all in stride. I LOVE ME. My parents talk me to appreciate who I am.
I think this piece is artistically done. My Dad used to a "dog dont want justa bone".
I appaluad & appreciate all my Big-Boned Sistas. I am from the South, if you dont have some meat on your bones they want to know, "Chile are you sick? Do you want sumthin; t'eat".

Must definately it is beautiful!

As a big woman myself you always have to deal with what society says is beautiful. Its a journey but I am definately learning to love myself for who and what I am.

I admire her
